Reporting to the Manager, Data Engineering, the Data Warehouse Analyst is responsible for providing systems analysis support for technology-enabled solutions specifically focused on the organization’s data management and data warehouse programs. You will work closely with business leaders and users, subject matter experts, project managers and IT professionals. You will elicit requirements and provide clear, concise documentation, analyze systems, analyze data, troubleshoot and provide root cause analysis, and contribute to systems-related business process design and improvement.

Please note that while SFHP supports a hybrid work environment, this role will be required to be onsite and in-office a minimum of 4 days per month. This is a hybrid position, based in our Downtown San Francisco office.

Salary Range: $109,341 to $121,489

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Work effectively in a team environment, utilizing Agile methodologies
  • Work directly with business partners, project managers, all levels of management, technical staff, architects and vendors to analyze Business Requirements/Need and create clear and concise Functional Specifications (supporting workflows, data analysis, etc.) according to standards and best practices
  • Actively lead and participate in requirements elicitation and apply a combination of business and technical knowledge to solve business problems with cost-effective technical solutions. Provide guidance to the business as to what is available as a technical solution
  • Understand the structure, policies, and operations of SFHP organization, and recommend solutions which enable SFHP to achieve its goals
  • Propose and design practical methods of process standardization, automation and incremental changes to drive efficiencies
  • Possess complete understanding of the SFHP data ecosystem surrounding target requirements, upstream and downstream impacts
  • Intimate knowledge of the organizations data pipelines and warehouse and how they interact with key applications
  • Use creative problem-solving skills to remove barriers and effective communication skills to keep all parties informed of status
  • Become Subject Matter Expert (over time) in MediCal/Medicare data over time
  • Support production system incidents; troubleshoot and provide root cause analysis
  • Work with end-users as needed to develop and execute test plans to verify business systems and processes work as expected
  • Adhere to SFHP’s Change Management/Release Management Policies and Procedures such as submitting appropriate and timely change requests
  • Develop and recommend operational processes and /or process improvements
  • Outline comprehensive action plan to implement said process improvements.
  • Act as an advocate for business users across the organization and support the business with helping to prioritize their requests
  • Provide end-user training for implemented systems/processes as well as accompanying user guides

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • A degree from a four-year college (e. g., BS) in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
  • Prior experience at a healthcare organization, particularly at a managed health plan
  • Experience in Agile Methodology and User Story refinement
  • Minimum 6 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Systems Analyst, Technical Analyst or comparable position in a healthcare environment
  • 2 - 4 years’ experience with relational databases, standard data warehouse concepts (dimensional models, etc) and writing SQL queries
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Visio or comparable business process design software preferred.
  • Familiarity in managing requirements and test suites in Azure DevOps preferred
  • Familiarity with HIPAA healthcare EDI transactions and file formats preferred
  • PC literacy required; MSOffice skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
