The SF City Option program is an innovative program that helps San Francisco workers access affordable health care through an employer funded medical reimbursement account that pays for health care expenses. It is administered by San Francisco Health Plan (SFHP) on behalf of the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH).
The SF City Option (SFCO) Specialist will support key initiatives to help improve employee awareness of the program and better employee experience and access in enrolling and using their benefits. The SF City Option Specialist must be collaborative, member-focused, organized, and able to support high performing project teams in a fast-paced environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Provide operational support by managing and/or assisting with processes such as: responding to employer and employee email and phone requests; reviewing enrollment forms; researching employer and employee issues and escalating when appropriate.
- Support ongoing operations relating to employer payments including coordinating outreach to employers regarding contributions that cannot be processed.
- Triage, research, and monitor operational issues such as participant eligibility and billing issues.
- Use sound judgment to apply rules and/or Policies & Procedures to resolve employer and employee issues or escalate to management where appropriate
- Provide administrative support by scheduling, coordinating, and preparing agendas, minutes, and other handouts for meetings and trainings.
- Evaluate and contribute towards proposing process improvements in the administration of SF City Option, including but not limited to systems enhancements, procedural clarification or updates, or policy changes.
- Participate in departmental and intradepartmental projects as needed.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalent professional experience acceptable
- One year of relevant work experience in healthcare or health plan operations customer service
- Experience with managed care, Medi-Cal, or SF City Option Program a plus
- Strong computer skills including high proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook). Competency in Microsoft Visio and SharePoint preferred.
