HRIS Business Analyst

OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), the HRIS Business Analyst will administer the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) in addition to other systems supported by the HRIS team. You will serve as a technical point of contact for HR and other functional areas and will assist subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing, and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. The HRIS Business Analyst will also support HRIS upgrades, patches, testing and other technical projects as assigned.
As an ideal candidate for this position, you will have technical interest and expertise, and be someone who is motivated and engaged by functional work that requires you to consistently assess processes for improvement. You will be comfortable liaising with staff at all levels throughout the organization and will identify yourself as a fast learner, highly collaborative, resourceful, detail-oriented, self-directed, and proactive. Experience and comfort working via phone and email are critical, as you will remotely support stakeholders across the network.
The HRIS Business Analyst will also have the opportunity to interact with students as a mentor, group facilitator, and advocate, participating in building a positive educational environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
System Maintenance, Administration and Improvement
- Maintain HRIS systems, processes, and user experience
- Provide support for HRIS including, but not limited to researching and resolving HRIS problems, unexpected results or process flaws; performing scheduled activities; recommending solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.
- Provide administration for HRIS, including, but not limited to: Workday, Degreed, HR ADP and ADP payroll support
- Monitor helpdesk tool for tickets assigned to the queue and processes first-in-first-out based on priority; provide HRIS HelpDesk support and resolve problems to the end user’s satisfaction
- Assist in the review, testing, and implementation of HRIS systems, including production enhancements, new releases, upgrades and patches
- In partnership with the Director of HRIS and Senior Business Analyst, coordinate application of upgrades or fixes
- In collaboration with HRIS team members, review process/customer service improvements, new releases, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy that must be approved by appropriate leadership or governance prior to implementation
- Other duties as assigned
Reports/Queries
- Write, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools
- Assist in development of reports for ongoing customer needs
- Help maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data
Commitment to Professional Development
- Maintain awareness of current trends in HRIS with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies
- Examine trends in information systems training, materials, and techniques
- Through classes, reading, CBTs or other mechanisms, continuously increase both HR knowledge and HRIS application/tools knowledge
- Participate in user group meetings/conferences
Site Team/Learning Community Member
- Serve as a coach/mentor for a small number of current students
- Join and sometimes facilitate weekly group sessions with students
- Participate in staff meetings and trainings
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 4-5 years’ experience in the workforce in HR or IT with exposure to HRIS or HR Generalist/Operations
- 1+ years’ project management experience a plus
- Experience with an HRIS and related systems; Workday, Degreed, and ADP preferred
- Strong understanding of HR processes and data, including compensation and performance planning, recruiting processes, and HR/benefit procedures
- Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong teamwork, solution-centric and customer-service-oriented attitude along with the ability to handle multi-faceted responsibilities simultaneously are essential
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills
- Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects
- A passion for working with young adults, an unshakable belief in their potential, and a strong commitment to the mission of Year Up United
- Understanding of the Opportunity Divide and its drivers
Salary Range- $85,000-$100,000
Location Preference: While this is a primarily remote role, we have a strong preference for candidates located on the East Coast to align with team collaboration and working hours.
