Content Marketing Specialist, Stakeholder - Location Flexible

OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Associate Director, Stakeholder Marketing, the Content Marketing Specialist will work with National and local teams across the Year Up United network to assist with the execution of our marketing strategy and build the Year Up United brand through content creation and maintenance projects. Working cross-functionally and with external contractors, the Marketing Specialist will foster brand alignment across the organization, provide strong project management, and deliver high-quality, on-brand, and timely work.
To be successful in this role, you’ll characterize yourself as a detail-oriented self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You’ll be comfortable managing projects involving multiple stakeholders, bringing strong problem-solving, writing, communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills to effectively move projects forward and get things done. You have a strong understanding of messaging and a sharp eye for editing and compelling design. Strong candidates will bring a passion for advancing social justice and will be prepared to engage with Year Up United’s mission and constituents, keeping Year Up United’s mission as the central driver of their work.
The Content Marketing Specialist will also have the opportunity to interact with students as a mentor, group facilitator, and advocate, participating in building a positive educational environment.
This location for this position is flexible. We are open to candidates living in states where Year Up United operates: https://www.yearup.org/job-training/locations. Strong preferences for candidates on the East Coast.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Content Creation
- Project manage the development of high-quality, on-brand content that will engage, inspire, and drive stakeholders to action across a variety of channels and mediums, including email, social media, print, digital, photo, and video
- Understand your intended audience and delivering content keyed into that audience
- Support and execute on integrated campaign strategies
- Create project plans and creative briefs; lead status calls
- Support in building out marketing toolkits in support of events, such as graduations and high-profile events
- Curation of statistics, photo/video assets, quotes, and other key information needed for collateral creation
- Basic graphic design and collateral creation using programs such as InDesign and Illustrator
- Identify and advocate for new opportunities that support our marketing strategy; collect and share resources/guides around marketing trends and best practices
Content Management
- Manage routine collateral updates to existing marketing collateral throughout the year
- Support with managing marketing help requests from internal stakeholders
- Conduct brand reviews of assets and provide specific and actionable guidance
- Manage marketing assets: uploading and categorization of material assets for internal stakeholders, ongoing organization, and ongoing tracking of new and updated assets
- Support with the creation and execution of processes and resources that ensure brand strength, alignment, and efficiencies across the organization, including swag, style guides, collateral/assets, and other key resources
- Support with analytics and measuring success/impact of the work
National Team Member
- Serve as a mentor/tutor for a small number of current students, availability permitting
- Join and sometimes facilitate weekly group sessions with students
- Participate in staff meetings and trainings
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-3+ years’ marketing/communications experience, preferably with a focus on content creation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; copywriting and copyediting experience a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to translate brand guidelines and elements across various types of content
- Creative mindset with an eye for visual design
- Ability to seek out and absorb lots of information
- Strong project management skills and demonstrated ability to manage projects involving multiple stakeholders and facilitate the communications necessary to support them
- Ability to manage competing priorities and communicate effectively when priorities shift
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Marketo, Drupal, and Microsoft Office preferred
- Experience with asset management system(s) preferred
- Experience with photo and video projects a plus

Hourly Range: $23-$27/hour ($48,000 - $56,000)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Year Up United has established salary ranges for each of our sites, which allows us to pay employees competitively, equitably and consistently in different geographic markets. For roles in which the location is listed as flexible, the range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.
