ROLE TITLE: Director, Partnerships (Part-Time)
POSITION REPORTS TO: Senior Managing Director, District Impact

WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Director, Partnerships will collaborate with the Senior Managing Director, District Impact to support, steward, and evaluate the various partnerships held by Teach For America - Houston. This includes school and district partnerships, certification program partners, and various other partners that provide resources and achieve impact across the city of Houston.

Additionally, you are detail-oriented and excel at translating your passion for our mission into systems and communications that empower people to fulfill their responsibilities. Finally, you can be responsive and take swift action as we identify and address new opportunities and challenges.
This is a part time (60%) role that will be expected to work approximately 24 hours per week.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Support District and School Partnerships (50%)

Manage Corps Member Hiring
In collaboration with the SMD, District Impact, design and lead a scope and sequence of learning experiences for CMs related to hiring.
Support the execution of corps member hiring by facilitating group conversations, leading mock interviews, reviewing resumes, etc.
Collaborate with our district (e.g. talent acquisition team) and school partners (school leaders or other hiring managers) to ensure our corps members meet hiring requirements and successfully gain employment in a partner school.
Manage systems that track data needed to inform strategy and report out progress toward goals.
Communicate with incoming CMs in a way that clearly informs incoming CMs of action items and inspires them to achieve outcomes.
Consistently inform the Senior Managing Director, District Impact progress toward priorities and goals.

Lead Ignite Partnership
In collaboration with the SMD, District Impact, identify and foster district and school partners for Teach For America’s Ignite program
Collaborate with TFA’s internal Ignite team to support the execution of Ignite on partner campuses
Support Teacher Certification (30%)

Manage teacher certification completion
Collaborate with the Director, Certification and Licensure to support corps members’ completion of certification requirements during the school year
Alongside the SMD, District Impact, partner with Teach For America Houston’s designated Educator Prep Programs to increase the number of certified corps members completing their programs
Conduct regular check ins with corps members who are not yet on an intern certificate to hold them accountable to completing their certification expectation
Manage Data Systems (10%)
Manage tracking systems to ensure teacher retention data and partnership data is accurate, up-to-date, and digestible
Ongoing Responsibilities (10%)
Participate in corps members and alumni activities across the continuum including but not limited to corps member selection or matriculation, pre-service, alumni campaigns, ongoing AmeriCorps data collection and tracking, etc.
Leverage regional and national resources (e.g. weekly newsletters, daily gift reports, etc.) and participate in statewide, regional and national committees/working groups/project teams
Prepare for and engage in ongoing check-ins, team meetings, and professional development structures
Serve as an “all hands on deck” team member willing to support regions in various ways as needs and opportunities arise, which embodies the spirit of the TFA Texas team.
Occasional weekend or evening work hours required

A WEEK IN THE LIFE
Over the course of any week, the Director, Partnerships will spend time:
Meeting with the SMD, District Impact to progress toward strategic goals. This person will work collaboratively with the SMD to celebrate successes, identify challenges, and engage in analysis to determine effective solutions.
During the CM hiring season (April-July), meeting with district HR teams and points of contact to ensure TFA teachers are getting hired in high-need, high-impact positions across the city
Manage several different trackers to ensure data is accurate and up-to-date for partnerships, retention, and hiring
Meet with the Ignite team and partner campuses to review end of semester data and align on priorities for the program for the next semester
Reach out to high-need corps members to ensure completion of any outstanding action steps related to certification to ensure all teachers are working toward certification
YOUR EXPERIENCE
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications):
You know the students and community we serve and are passionate about realizing educational equity in Texas
You have expertise managing multiple projects at once and working collaboratively across multiple internal and external teams to achieve your vision and impact.
You are comfortable with ambiguity and a self-starter who operates with minimal oversight
You are detail-oriented and excel at translating your passion for our mission into tracking systems and communications strategies that compel diverse stakeholders
You are able to balance competing priorities from multiple stakeholders to make decisions best aligned to TFA policy and mission
Prior relationship with any of our largest school district partners – Aldine ISD, Houston ISD, KIPP Texas, and YES Prep Public Schools
Teach For America experience (staff or corps) and/or public education experience
5+ years of aligned work experience
Bachelor’s degree required
Certification in project management, or equivalent work experience preferred

YOUR COMPENSATION
The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Salary
Tier A: $74,300 - $99,300
Tier B: $81,000 - $108,300
Tier C: $87,700 - $117,200
