WHAT YOU’LL DO
Recruitment Managers (RMs) grow and strengthen the movement for educational opportunity by compelling top leaders to join the Teach For America corps. As a Recruitment Manager, Internal (RMI), you will play a pivotal role in co-leading high-impact strategies that attract and engage top-tier candidates, connect with talent pools, and inspire a broad network of advocates to build a high-caliber corps.
As our strategy has evolved to amplify the critical role of our broader Teach For America network in advancing our mission, you will be charged with activating and empowering these regions, corps members, alumni, and influential leaders to drive recruitment through multiple layers of influence nationwide. Your work will leverage the full potential of our movement to create a sustainable pipeline of passionate leaders committed to educational excellence and opportunity for all.
Co-leading a campaign with two Recruitment Managers, External, you will establish innovative strategies for lead generation, sourcing, lead nurture, and outreach across undergraduate and graduate student pools, as well as other key stakeholder groups. By analyzing data, building talent pipelines, and executing forward-thinking recruitment approaches, you will accelerate our field recruitment efforts, supporting the recruitment team’s vision of developing the next generation of corps members who will take on the challenge of access to educational excellence and opportunity head-on.
The ideal candidate loves to collaborate with others, support the execution of meetings and events, and create enthusiasm for Teach For America among a variety of partners. They are adept at lateral management and able to compel others to take action. They demonstrate excitement around building and executing a long-term strategy for campus recruitment within their partner campuses. They can naturally build relationships with others and are particularly skilled in developing partnerships and networks in order to achieve results. They demonstrate strong adaptability and can modify their approach to fit different settings and ensure their messages are tailored to their audience. They build and optimize systems to manage multiple priorities across stakeholders, leveraging data to inform decisions.
As a Recruitment Manager, you will be on the front lines of Teach For America’s most consequential work, driving the broader movement for educational excellence and opportunity. You will receive robust training, ongoing coaching, and professional development to hone your leadership and innovation skills, ensuring you have the tools to succeed and help us reach new heights in our mission.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Recruitment Managers (Internal) take on the following responsibilities:
Set Campaign Vision and Direction (15%)
Shape and inform team strategy to meet recruitment goals for campus campaigns, conducting regular analysis of progress towards objectives and evaluating outcomes for sourcing and outreach campaigns (covering lead acquisition, inbound lead management, and applicant stewardship through the interview stage).
Develop and execute a stakeholder engagement strategy, empowering key influencers such as alumni, corps members, and others, to champion the Teach For America movement and enhance the organization’s brand within prioritized campuses.
Build Relationships and Networks (25%)
Navigate within an agile team structure, making decisive choices to drive results and influencing peers across various teams to maximize collective impact
Communicate across multiple channels to engage different audiences, delivering compelling, customized messages that resonate with their motivations and interests, and inspiring action toward the TFA mission.
Build and nurture relationships with potential network partners and external stakeholders, expanding their understanding of Teach For America’s mission and strengthening their commitment to educational opportunity.
Execute Campaign Outreach (25%)
Source and connect leaders with Teach For America by identifying strong prospects and tailoring outreach to match their values and potential fit with the organization’s mission.
Identify and leverage high-impact campaign opportunities, exploring strategic partnerships with entities like Career Service Offices to drive measurable results.
Plan, support, and execute recruitment events and initiatives, ensuring alignment with campaign goals and driving tangible progress in recruitment efforts.
Make Data-Driven Decisions (20%)
Collaborate across teams to design, implement, and refine strategies, using data-driven tools to uncover gaps, patterns, and opportunities within campaigns. Develop targeted solutions to optimize outcomes and accelerate progress toward goals.
Conduct consistent checks across recruiter campaigns, assessing the viability of talent pipelines and making adjustments as needed to ensure smooth flow of a competitive group of candidates through the recruitment process.
Lead Across the Movement (15%)
Actively participate in all organizational commitments, including selection, confirmation, RT-wide events, and team meetings to foster a sense of community and shared purpose.
Stay deeply informed about the educational landscape of partner regions, including local news, regional happenings, and community needs, using this context to guide meaningful conversations with prospects and stakeholders.
Adapt to the changing needs of the team, region, or organization, supporting various initiatives as needed
Responsibly steward available resources through consistent compliance with all employee policies and expectations
A WEEK IN THE LIFE
The weekly responsibilities of a Recruitment Manager, Internal, will vary depending on the specific needs and context of the campaign. Each week, the Recruitment Manager will dedicate time to refining and optimizing the recruitment pipeline, drafting and sending personalized outreach emails and follow-ups to potential candidates, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data within our online platform (e.g. Salesforce). They will collaborate closely with their direct managers and Recruitment Managers, External, to review and analyze campaign data, adjust strategies, and determine next steps. Additionally, the Recruitment Manager will proactively identify and leverage strategic opportunities to bring in new leads, utilizing available resources to “warm up” prospects, deepen their understanding of Teach For America’s mission, and foster a strong commitment to the organization’s approach and values.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
Prior Experience
Teach For America alumni and/or experience working in low-income schools strongly preferred
At least 2 years of professional experience
6 months of recruitment sourcing or inside sales experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrates strengths in operating, planning, and execution, and gets energy from the design of key recruitment strategies (e.g. virtual event invitations and follow ups, engaging Activate Fellows, leveraging partnerships, Handshake sends) to draw prospects towards Teach For America.
Thrives in behind-the-scenes strategy development, creating tailored, targeted engagements and actions that align with campaign objectives and drive results.
Exhibits exceptional attention to detail while efficiently managing high volumes of work and balancing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met.

Some local travel expected to execute events on campus in PA and DC

YOUR COMPENSATION
The applicable salary range for each U.S.- based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal review, and the budgeted amount for the role. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Tier A: $61,300 to $82,000
Tier B: $66,800 to $89,400
Tier C: $72,300 to $96,700
