ROLE TITLE: Manager, Alumni and Community Impact (Full-time)

POSITION REPORTS TO: Emanne Saleh, Director, Alumni & Community Impact

WHAT YOU’LL DO

We are looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative team member to manage the communications, data systems, and operational logistics that power our alumni and community engagement strategy in New York. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that alumni across the state stay informed, connected, and engaged through strong communication channels, accurate data, and well-executed events.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, tech-savvy, and energized by making systems run smoothly behind the scenes. You’ll play a critical role in maintaining the infrastructure that allows our team—and our alumni—to thrive.

The goal is to deliver seamless communications and high-quality operational support that enables meaningful alumni engagement across the region.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute alumni communication strategy, including managing the alumni newsletter, LinkedIn page, and other social media platforms.

  • Maintain and update alumni data records to ensure accuracy and support cross-team functions with timely data reports.

  • Collaborate with the Managing Director of Data and Research to fulfill data inquiries and reporting needs.

  • Manage all logistics for alumni and community impact events, including space reservations, registration, catering, and follow-up.

  • Develop and implement systems and processes that streamline operations across the Alumni and Community Impact team and regional partners.

A WEEK IN THE LIFE

  • Operations (40%): Support Alumni and Community Impact team operations by creating and implementing processes to streamline work within the team and across regional teams. Manage all aspects of logistics for events led by the alumni and community impact team (reserving space, registration, ordering food, after action, etc.) Take the lead on setting agenda, calendar invites, etc. For Alumni and Community Impact Team internal meetings. Utilize project management platform to manage various workstreams on the Alumni and Community Impact team.

  • Communication (30%): Execute communication strategy for alumni across the state. With oversight from D, Alumni and Community Impact, manage alumni newsletter, alumni LinkedIn page, and other relevant social media sites, and email. Serve as the point of contact for general alumni and partner inquiries, ensuring that stakeholders are referred to the appropriate team member.

  • Data Management (20%): Responsible for supporting the regular maintenance and accuracy of alumni data records in TFACT. Generate alumni data reports as necessary for various cross-team functions. Work closely with D, Alumni Impact, and MD, Data and Research, to complete data inquiries and requests in a timely fashion.

  • Team Responsibilities (10%): Additional expectations for duties aligned to team-wide and organization-wide goals (ie, team meetings, new corps member interviews, etc.)

YOUR EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in communications, operations, data management, or a related function, preferably in education, nonprofit, or mission-driven environments

  • Strong writing and content creation skills for email, newsletters, and social media platforms (especially LinkedIn)

  • Experience managing or maintaining data systems (e.g., Salesforce, Airtable, Excel) with a strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Proven ability to manage logistics and event operations, including vendor coordination, scheduling, and post-event analysis

  • Ability to develop and refine processes that improve team efficiency and collaboration

  • Comfort working with cross-functional teams and navigating multiple priorities at once

  • A proactive mindset, with the ability to anticipate needs and drive projects forward independently

  • Deep commitment to educational equity and belief in the power of alumni leadership

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required

BONUS (preferred qualifications)

  • Experience with Teach For America systems (Salesforce, Slack, etc.) or familiarity with alumni engagement work

  • Proficiency in basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) or email platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud)

  • Experience in data reporting or visualization tools a plus

YOUR COMPENSATION

The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Salary Tier C: $72,300 – $96,700
