ROLE TITLE: Manager, Corps Member Hiring
POSITION REPORTS TO: Lauren Voelker, Managing Director, Partnership Operations

LOCATION: New York Region; The role is hybrid and needs to be in the New York area (reasonable commutable distance) but will not be expected to be in-person 100% of the time.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As Manager, Corps Member Hiring, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that operations related to hiring our incoming and current teachers (known as corps members or CMs) run efficiently and in alignment with team priorities. The role you will play is instrumental to our hiring process for our incoming 2026 New York corps members, ensuring consistency, coherence, and community across the region. TFA NY’s goal each year is to ensure all corps members are hired at a school where they are wanted, needed, and can have the biggest impact.
The primary responsibilities of this role are managing logistics on the corps member-facing, school leader-facing and staff-facing components of our teacher placement process. This includes ownership of tasks such as corps member material review and feedback, collecting and analyzing data, updating internal and external information systems, crafting communications for staff, school leaders, and corps members, and facilitating mock interviews. You’ll also support our internal knowledge management and work directly with our 12 leadership development coaches to ensure they feel clear about their role in our hiring process.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Partnership and Hiring Logistics (55%)
Support the successful implementation of partnership systems in service of TFA New York’s mission, including updating school partner profiles, researching local partner schools, and communicating directly with school leaders.
Manage tracking systems to designate hiring targets, partner efficacy, and regional partner communications (e.g. partner newsletters & webinars).
Support regional strategy to bring on new partner schools who are aligned to TFA’s mission.
Maintain and update content on internal and external sites, documents, and spreadsheets (i.e., hiring materials such as partner school profiles, action item follow-ups, and reminders).
Develop and run systems so that other staff (full- and part-time) and alumni conduct interview prep sessions and engagements.
Manage data reporting deadlines: evaluating completeness of data entry, troubleshooting errors, tracking progress, and summarizing inputs.
In partnership with MD and PO, execute interview processes and systems throughout the hiring campaign, interpret feedback data upon completion of each round, and manage the execution of the corps member interview coaching process, including hiring debriefs and logistics for mock interviews. Support MD and PO in collecting and reviewing corps member resumes, personal why videos, and hiring preferences.

Incoming Corps Member Communications (25%)
Create general interventions and resources for corps members struggling in hiring, elevate larger trends and patterns for higher tier interventions in partnership with the Regional Impact team.
Manage TFA New York’s general email inbox by responding to incoming corps member inquiries regarding hiring and placement consistently and with vigor.
Design and execute communication scope and sequence for incoming corps members across lines of onboarding (hiring, graduate school, certification, etc.).

Current Corps Member Support Strategy (20%)
Support management of in-service action items related to placement, graduate school, and TFA standing. Manage graduate school enrollment to ensure all corps members are enrolled with our graduate school partners to attain certification.
Partner with our team to build resources that codify workstream best practices and project planning materials
Participate in all-staff (region and organization-wide) activities and events, including interviewing corps members, attending regional and organization-wide team meetings and retreats, and volunteering to support projects outside your scope of work.
A WEEK IN THE LIFE
Over the course of any week, the Manager, Corps Member Hiring will spend time:
We will meet with MD and Partnership Operations to align on progress across hiring goals and corps member progress and cultivate strong relationships between TFA and our partner schools.
Planning and facilitating meetings with regional coaches to share hiring responsibilities, school leader updates, and trends among our corps members.
Writing to or speaking with current and prospective school leaders about TFA’s program, corps members, and goals.
Contributing to ongoing regional meetings regarding hiring progress and strategies that invite whole-team collaboration.
Working among our Regional Impact team to best understand our current and incoming corps members, their needs, and implementing strategies or interventions to support their success in our program.
Close collaboration with the Manager, Incoming Corps Member Experience, to ensure corps members have a smooth onboarding experience and a clear understanding of their responsibilities, action items, and progress in our program.
Designing and presenting one-on-one and group sessions to corps members on the topics of interview prep, resume feedback, demonstration lessons, and hiring best practices.
Answering emails in regional inbox, and discussing corps member concerns and supporting them in processing information, working through trouble spots, clarifying lingering questions. In partnership with Regional Impact team, understanding larger trends and creating solutions to help corps members succeed.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications):
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Prior Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience

Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities at the same time, including creating strong project plans and executing them effectively

Experience as a TFA corps member or teacher

This role is a part of the Regional Impact team, which partners closely with the Connecticut-NYC Program Hub to ensure coherence across the CM experience in New York. You will work hand-in-hand with our New York regional team across all major components of our regional vision and commitment to our 2030 goals across the corps and alumni continuum.
YOUR COMPENSATION
The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint, depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Tier C: $68,2000 - $87,800
