ROLE TITLE: Manager, Pre-Service Projects (Project Manager)

POSITION REPORTS TO: Amy Leiboh, MDLD

LOCATION: King County, Washington

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As the Manager, Pre-Service Projects, you’ll plan Corps Member learning experiences aimed at supporting Corps Members in:

  • Growing their network of partners in education

  • Building their understanding of the education landscape in Washington

  • Operating with excellence in the teacher role

  • Getting to know more about the communities in which they will teach

The ideal candidate will have experience planning learning experiences for adults.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Prepare Flexible Program Session (85%):

  • Given a project plan for flexible programming for Washington pre-service, as well as prior examples, you will prepare 4-8 flexible learning sessions so they are 100% ready for implementation by the regional team. This includes: updating and revising presentation content and materials, and securing guest facilitators and speakers.

Collaborate with MDLD (15%):

  • Submit draft plans to the MDLD for feedback, engage in discussions around desired revisions, incorporate feedback into designs.

A WEEK IN THE LIFE

Over the course of any week, the Director, Pre-Service Experience will spend time:

  • Reviewing the regional pre-service vision and regional flex time project plan

  • Evaluating prior examples and creating updated session presentations and materials

  • Revising session content to implement feedback from the MDLD

  • Reaching out to alumni and other partners to secure their participation in key sessions

YOUR EXPERIENCE

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications):

  • Ability to plan learning experiences for an adult audience.

  • Ability to seek out manager feedback and incorporate feedback into ongoing experience.

  • Ability to complete projects within a given time frame.

BONUS (preferred qualifications)

  • Prior experience working with Teach For America alumni

  • Prior experience working at Teach For America Pre-Service

YOUR FUTURE TEAM

In this role, you’ll be partnering with the TFA Washington Managing Director, Leadership Development. Your work will support the work of TFA Washington as the region leads the charge of re-entering Corps Members into local classrooms.

YOUR COMPENSATION

The Manager, Pre-Service Projects role will be compensated at an hourly rate of $36.74. The rate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands.
