ROLE TITLE: Manager, Network Activation (Full time)

POSITION REPORTS TO: Executive Director, Jennifer Howard

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Manager, Network Activation will focus on top-level regional priorities concerning corps recruitment and alumni relationships across the Ohio region.

For Corps Recruitment: The Manager will work alongside Ohio’s MD of Partnerships and the Midwest Recruitment Team to execute a strategy recruiting future TFA Ohio corps members from area colleges and mission aligned non-profits.

For Alumni Relationships: The Manager will work alongside Ohio’ MD of Alumni Services to effectively manage internal data systems and foster a connected community of TFA alumni across the state. Through 1:1 connections and strategic events that galvanize the alumni community, the Manager will work to deepen TFA Ohio’s connections with alumni and leverage their strengths and roles towards collective impact.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Corps Strategy and Execution (40%)

  • Contribute to our regional strategy to achieve recruitment and matriculation goals for college and local partnership campaigns.

  • Execute on strategy to confirm individual CMs, particularly leveraging our network.

  • Engage and empower key influencers (alumni, corps members, Campus Ambassadors, etc.) to promote a TFA brand within campuses or markets.

  • Apply a racial equity lens to analyzing relevant data to develop strategies that eliminate racial inequities and inform the strategic direction of campaigns, pilots and other initiatives.

Alumni Strategy and Execution (40%)

  • Cultivate relationships with alumni through 1:1 meetings, newsletters, and social media engagement.

  • Engage alumni to directly support corps recruitment, transition to alumni hood programming, and career acceleration opportunities.

  • Increase accuracy of alumni employment data and engagement tracking data in our client management system.

  • Contribute to the design and execution of alumni programming and systems-change events (both virtual and in-person).

Maintain agile working habits that allow for the emergent needs at Teach For America (20%)

  • Take on additional projects and responsibilities as needed to support statewide vision and goals, serving as an “all hands on deck” team member willing to lean in for your team and TFA in various ways as needs and opportunities arise.

  • Engage in diversity, equity, and inclusion conversations for ongoing personal reflection and learning, acknowledging that we are never done learning and growing.

  • Complete general administrative responsibilities accurately and on time and support others on the team to do the same.

  • Fill requests for information as needed internally and externally.

A WEEK IN THE LIFE

Over the course of any week, the Manager of Network Activation will:

  • Recruit at a college campus or through a nonprofit partner (2-3 days)

    • Attend hiring fairs or recruitment opportunities at college campuses.

    • Build relationships with key influencers at local colleges and nonprofits.

    • Meet with individual recruits to learn their story and inform them of TFA’s mission and process.

    • Steward local partners (e.g., university faculty/staff, local nonprofits, regional advisory board members, funders, etc.) to support the recruitment campaign.

    • Identify and steward a pool of CMs and alumni who are “on deck” to engage with prospects (due to interest, alma mater, affinity, etc.) throughout the prospect journey.

    • Collaborate with Ohio’s MD, Partnerships and Midwest recruitment team.

  • Engage with local TFA alumni (1-2 days)

    • Host events and opportunities to build community with TFA alumni.

    • Identify and steward a pool of CMs and alumni who are “on deck” to engage with prospects (due to interest, alma mater, affinity, etc.) throughout the prospect journey.

    • Collaborate with Ohio’s MD, Alumni Services.

BONUS (preferred qualifications)

  • Possesses experience with Teach For America as an alum, former staff member, or partner in the community.

YOUR FUTURE TEAM

Teach For America Ohio has 90 corps members reaching thousands of students across the state. Additionally, over 1,200 alumni are working from all sectors to end educational inequity. Regional staff members work to train and support corps members, continually strengthen relationships with local schools and districts, foster the leadership of local alumni, and grow the regional funding base and community partnerships to guarantee that Teach For America Ohio can build a sustainable movement to reach the day when every child in the region has access to an excellent education. To realize this vision in our lifetime, we know that we must accelerate the impact of TFA’s network to work towards implementing and sustaining progress in education and other sectors that most shape the outcomes of our students.

YOUR COMPENSATION

The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Tier A: $61,300-$76,600
