WHAT YOU’LL DO
We are seeking an Associate, Operations to work with the MD, Regional Leadership Operations to understand, plan for, and support office operations, event logistics, and Executive Director support. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with the ability to anticipate the team’s needs, consider what will ensure a positive experience, and work to be part of a team that provides a collaborative culture that enables regional staff to meet their goals. You will manage the TFA LA office, support the operational needs for our large constituent events, and assist in supporting the work of the Office of the Executive Director. You will support the ongoing management of the team budget, and engage in region and org-wide initiatives.
The goal is to ensure the behind-the-scenes runs smoothly so staff can commit their time and energy to advance our organizational mission that one day all children in this nation will have the opportunity to attain an excellent education. The Associate, Operations will report to the Managing Director, Regional Leadership Operations.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
In-Person Office Management (30%)
Ensure that the staff and guest experience meets our operational goals, as well as the overall vision for a high-functioning and inspiring workplace
Maintain day-to-day office operations, including, but not limited to, supply ordering, mail, office organization, office atmosphere, visitor guidance, and directing deliveries
Manage office up-keep projects
Executive Director Support (30%)
Maximize the capacity of the Office of the Executive Director by assisting with operational needs including scheduling, email communication, and problem solving.
Provide high-level administrative support to the Executive Director, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and making travel arrangements
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Anticipate the needs of the Executive Director and proactively address them
Event Execution (20%)
Support execution of virtual and in-person board, corps, partner, donor, and alumni convenings
Coordinate logistics including travel, accommodation, catering, audiovisual, and vendor requirements
Support event registration, attendee communication, and RSVPs
Oversee in-person event setup, execution, and breakdown
Regional Team Responsibilities (20%)
Operate as an unwavering team player, attending all-staff meetings and supporting the execution of region-wide projects (e.g. development events, project working groups, etc.), for the benefit of the collective team as a steward of key performance indicators
Participate in region- and organization-wide initiatives and events such as corps member selection and working groups

Prior Experience
1-3 years of work experience
Experience working in an office and team setting preferred
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite of tools and Google Drive
Work Demands
Occasional weekend and evening work is required for events within the Greater Los Angeles area
This role is required to travel to and work from our Downtown Los Angeles office at least 2-3 days per week, or as needed to ensure high-quality office user experience (in-person days vary based on constituent needs, but Tuesdays will always be required for team meetings)
YOUR FUTURE TEAM
The Operations team creates the conditions necessary for the regional team and Executive Director to thrive and achieve ambitious goals. The team is responsible for office operations, regional finances, Executive Director support, policy engagement, talent, culture, and event logistics.
YOUR COMPENSATION
The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Hourly Rate
Tier A: $22.93-$29.57
Tier B: $25.00-$32.21
Tier C: $27.02-$34.86
