WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Teach For America Greater Baton Rouge seeks a Manager of Operations and Community Engagement. This role sits at the intersection of the community engagement that is critical to our impact and the internal operational needs essential to quality community engagement. This individual can quickly evaluate, plan, and execute to pursue outcomes and manage work both inside and outside the organization to maximize our team’s efficiency and community engagement opportunities. This person can rally, organize, and manage people, processes, and resources. As a strong project manager, they will lead through collaboration, strong communication, and staying vision-centered. The Manager of Operations and Community Engagement is motivated by building collaborative partnerships with national and regional teams at Teach For America and within our local footprint to advance our focus on educational equity.
External Engagement (35%)
Facilitate and manage logistics and needs of the literacy coalition efforts alongside the Executive Director.
Coordinate planning and execution of efforts to recruit talent to Greater Baton Rouge.
Represent Teach For America at local events as needed.
Logistics and Operations (35%)
Collaborate closely with staff members to plan and execute network gatherings, regional board meetings, and team learning engagements.
Create and manage tight logistics for events. This may include but is not limited to, event booking, team preparation, guest registration, and communication.
Manage team member needs, including technology, vendors, and office usage.
Work closely with national partners to track and forecast non-payroll spending.
Serve as team buyer and manage team towards compliant purchasing.
Support with content development and operation of donor mailings.
Manage process and completion of contracts with external partners, schools, and vendors.
Communications (20%)
Collaborate with regional and local staff members to build communications cadence.
Develop and send newsletter communications to network members and external partners.
Maintain regional social media accounts and increase reach.

A WEEK IN THE LIFE
Over the course of any week, the Manager, Operations, and Community Engagement will spend time:
Scheduling meetings for the literacy coalition and other external partners.
Crafting and sending outreach to potential TFA corps members.
Planning for a large-scale network celebration, including venue and vendor management.
Writing copy and building visuals for network newsletters.
Generating and posting content to TFA social media channels.
Assist teammates with operational tasks by answering operations-related questions and fulfilling operations and logistics requests from other team members.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications):
At least three years of work experience involving operations and external communications
Exceptional ability to build and execute a project plan
Ability to create strong and compelling visuals and clear, concise written copy for communications
Relationship and networking building experience
Proactive: Sees what is around the corner regarding logistics and determines plans
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Some evening work hours and weekend work hours required

YOUR COMPENSATION
The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on various job-related factors, including education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Salary: $69,600
Tier A: $57,800-$64,700
Tier B: $64,800-$74,400
Tier C: $74,500-$83,500
