WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As Managing Director, Leadership Development (MD, LD) - Operations, you will serve as the operations and logistics lead for a portfolio of regions focusing on team systems, culture, and learning, as well as the Equity Driven Teaching & Learning Summits and asynchronous Corps Member (CM) supports. As the operations lead for your portfolio of regions, you will focus on supporting your coach/MD, Leadership Development (MD,LD) team to connect with and implement all needed resources for CM support and collaborate with the Ops team to continually monitor trends and improve systems and support. For the Equity Driven Teaching & Learning Summits, you will partner with the content planning team and support your program team to operationally bring the vision and goals of each Summit to life for your group of regions.

The ideal candidate loves the big picture as well as working in the details. You get energy from working on projects with numerous moving pieces, managing the process and people to assure that all of the pieces come together to form a coherent picture. You are willing to try new things in your work, particularly those that have shown promise in other contexts, while simultaneously taking needs from identification through idea generation to contribute to the learning and growth of the MD, Operations team as a whole. You are a strong project planner and implementer and have a genuine excitement for behind-the-scenes work and using efficiency and support of others to achieve collective goals. You have experience managing others and have demonstrated strength in laterally managing within and across teams. Please note that the candidate for this role must be available to work Hawaii Standard Time.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

In this role you will,

Operations and Logistics (70%)

  • Set the vision for all operations and logistics for the summer teaching practicum for your regional grouping. - Create the plan (systems, structures, DOL) to implement this operation.

  • Operationalize the planning team’s vision, priorities, and goals for the Equity Driven Teaching & Learning Summits. (Plan, coordinate, and execute day of x2 per year, both virtual and in person)

  • Build a connected, inclusive, rigorous, and thriving community amongst your region grouping.

  • Support the SMD, LD in preparation and execution of team meetings and learning spaces. - Supporting with team operations & logistics for team retreats, stepbacks, and engagements

  • Co-manage the M, LD Operations for your regional grouping.

  • Monitor team expenses on a monthly basis, work with team budget trackers to accurately forecast expenses throughout the year.

  • Compiling and entering the team’s non-payroll budget into annual planning tools


Resource Stewardship and Utilization Monitoring (20%)

  • Maintain knowledge of supports available for your team of MD, Leadership Development staff members to leverage offered by National Teams and External Partners.

  • Support the SMD, LD in the collection, analysis, and synthesis of data to inform the work of the MD, LDs as well as the learning of this program model.

  • Support the implementation of the BetterLesson, Cultivate Student Survey, and Teachstone CLASS teaching

  • rubrics.

  • Implement and collaborate with the full MD,LD Ops team to improve and increase efficiency of systems for MD, LDs in general and specifically related to all steps involved in the virtual coaching process from identification of need to implementation of coaching.

  • Serve as point of contact for MD, LDs for virtual coaching when this resource is needed. - Run the reports on a determined cadence to determine utilization patterns and trends.

  • Share learning with SMD, LD , and MD, LDs to inform work with their CM cohorts.

Other (10%)

  • Serve as an “all hands on deck” team member willing to support your program team in various ways as needs and opportunities arise including selection.

  • Engage in diversity, equity, and inclusion conversations for ongoing personal reflection and learning, acknowledging that we are never done learning and growing.

  • Complete general administrative responsibilities accurately and on time.


A WEEK IN THE LIFE
Over the course of any week, the Managing Director, Leadership Development- Operations will spend time: monitoring and tracking data trends to support MDLD implementation of programs with CMs. Collaborating with the MD, LD Ops team and SMD to gather information for weekly Hub communications. Consulting with Hub regions in preparation for Pre-Service. Checking in with your Manager, Operations on upcoming AmeriCorps, retention, and matriculation tasks. Collaborating with the MD, LD Ops team plan, execute, problem-solve, and engage in ongoing learning and growth in support of Leadership Development wide operations. As a member of the Leadership Development Operations team, your week will be focused on sustaining the structures that undergird all program operations.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications):

  • 7+ years of professional work experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Willing to work some nights and occasional weekends

  • Project Management: Experience in project management, and either hold a certificate or agree to acquire one in year one of the role

  • Experience managing people vertically and laterally, to meet outcomes and deadlines

  • Self-starter with track record of managing multiple projects and deadline oriented

  • Travel: Ability to travel to in-person meetings in various U.S. cities 2-3 times/year and periodic travel to regions for in-person retreats and/or meetings (no more than 2 trips per region)

  • Must be available to work Hawaii Standard Time

BONUS (preferred qualifications)

  • 10+ years professional work experience

  • 3+ years experience in roles requiring strong lateral management and or cross-functional leadership

  • A track record of getting results while managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously

  • Partnership orientation toward planning and management

YOUR COMPENSATION:
The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.
● Tier A: $81,700 - $109,300
● Tier B: $81,900- $119,100
● Tier C $96,400- $129,000
