NetHope is seeking an experienced fundraising consultant to support the identification, cultivation, and conversion of funders with a particular emphasis on those aligned with NetHope’s work around its NetHope Connected and AI programming. The consultant will work closely with the Chief Partnerships and Philanthropy Officer to build and advance a robust funding pipeline across a range of funder types and revenue models.
The estimated engagement is 400 hours from June through October 2026.
Scope of Work
This is a collaborative, hands-on fundraising engagement covering three phases:
Phase 1: Inception and Assessment (Early June 2026)
Align with the CPPO on priorities, working rhythms, and communications
Review existing donor portfolio and pipeline
Develop a compelling value proposition for new funder outreach
Conduct a landscape scan and identify a priority shortlist of 15-20 target funders
Develop a detailed work plan, fundraising calendar, and reporting cadence
Phase 2: Pipeline Development and Funder Cultivation (June – October 2026)
Research and profile priority prospects across all relevant funder types
Deliver an initial pipeline by end of June, with a refresh by mid-July
Develop tailored engagement strategies for each priority funder
Drive proactive outreach and cultivate new relationships
Prepare meeting briefings, talking points, concept notes, LOIs, proposals, and follow-up communications
Maintain and update a centralized prospect tracker throughout the engagement
Provide regular progress updates at a mutually agreed cadence
Phase 3: Knowledge Management and Handover (October 2026)
Ensure all data and communications are fully documented in the CRM
Transfer relationships to relevant NetHope team members
Produce a final report summarizing activity, outcomes, pipeline status, and strategic recommendations
Deliver all in-progress proposals in a state ready for continuation
Qualifications
10-15 years of proven success securing significant funding from institutional funders (foundations, government), high-net-worth individuals, corporate partners, and/or family foundations
Demonstrated experience with international NGOs, humanitarian organizations, nonprofit networks, or technology-for-good initiatives
Superior proposal writing skills with the ability to synthesize complex content into compelling funding narratives
Established relationships within the philanthropic and institutional donor community relevant to NetHope’s thematic areas
Experience managing a full funding pipeline from prospect research through stewardship
Familiarity with CRM systems and grant tracking tools
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to represent NetHope credibly with senior donor stakeholders
Availability during Eastern Time Zone hours and across time zones as needed
Experience with fee-for-service, impact investing, or venture philanthropy models a plus

June 2, 2026 – October 31, 2026
