What We Are Looking For:
The Technical Assistance Associate will support the implementation of the Technical Assistance (TA) Facility for Deetken Impact’s new climate action fund, working with climate-focused companies and projects across Latin America and the Caribbean in key sectors such as green finance, clean energy, and sustainable agriculture and agroforestry.
In this role, you will help design, implement, and monitor TA activities that strengthen investment readiness, improve business and impact performance, and support gender-responsive and climate-resilient practices. You will work closely with the investment and portfolio management teams, as well as with pipeline and portfolio companies, combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Assistance Design & Implementation
● Design, scope, and implement TA activities for pipeline and portfolio companies aligned with the Fund’s investment and impact objectives. This includes leading comprehensive gap analyses and investment readiness services to assess and improve business strategies, climate and sustainability practices, gender outcomes, and alignment with the Fund’s investment thesis.
● Collaborate with the investment team to integrate TA findings into investment decision-making, due diligence, and portfolio management.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning
● Monitor TA implementation progress and results against defined indicators.
● Support impact measurement, learning, and reporting related to gender, climate, ESG, and financial performance outcomes.
● Ensure compliance with TA facility funder requirements, including reporting, documentation, and performance updates.
● Facilitate knowledge-sharing through the development of public-facing case studies.
Stakeholder Engagement
● Collaborate with portfolio company leadership, external consultants, and ecosystem partners to ensure effective delivery of TA initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Academic background
● Bachelor’s degree required in business administration, economics, international development, environmental studies, or a related field; Master’s degree a plus.
Experience
● 5+ years of relevant experience in technical assistance, impact investing, development finance, climate finance, or consulting roles.
● Knowledge of climate adaptation, climate mitigation, gender equality, and ESG risk mitigation in private-sector contexts.
● Experience working with investment funds, SMEs in climate sectors, or financial institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean.
● Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
● Familiarity with donor-funded TA facilities and compliance requirements preferred.
Languages
● Professional fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
Technical competencies
● Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
● Excellent project management and coordination abilities.
● Strong business acumen, understanding how decisions impact strategy, operations, and financial outcomes.
● Ability to translate technical insights into actionable recommendations for investment teams and portfolio companies.
