Note on location: Remote position but must reside in CA, MA, NY, PA or WA.
The Workforce Manager is an exciting new role on the Summer Search National team, created to propel our career readiness programming forward by connecting post-secondary participants—primarily 2–3 years after high school graduation—with Career-Relevant Opportunities (CROs), such as internships, fellowships, and industry specific work experience. These opportunities are designed to help young people explore their professional goals and gain the experience and networks to reach them.
Through the recruitment and placement process for CROs nationwide, the Workforce Manager will act as the primary support for students and liaison with internal corporate and nonprofit partners. They will also explore additional workforce programs, networks, and resources, opening doors for Summer Search participants and alumni to access meaningful career experiences they might not otherwise have.
Reporting to the Career Program Director, the Workforce Manager will be part of a newly formed five-person careers team dedicated to equity and youth mentorship and will collaborate closely with colleagues across our National team and five regional sites (Bay Area, New York City, Seattle, Boston, and Philadelphia). Whether it be entering a specific industry or exploring different professional paths, this role will play a vital part in helping our participants move closer to their career aspirations.
