ICA Fund, formerly known as Inner City Advisors, is a nonprofit organization based in Oakland, California, dedicated to accelerating small businesses to catalyze growth and wealth creation for communities in the Bay Area. Established in 1996, ICA provides coaching, connections, and capital to entrepreneurs in the San Francisco Bay Area, focusing on supporting businesses led by women and people of color. ICA’s portfolio includes a diverse range of companies such as Pilotly, Cupcakin’, and B.T.R. Nation exemplifying ICA’s commitment to supporting businesses that contribute to the local economy and community.

Role Summary:

Reporting into the CEO, this role is responsible for developing the investment strategy and leading investment activities, managing investments in portfolio, and assisting in raising investment capital through fundraising with endowments/foundations. Oversees and builds a dynamic team of six professionals to achieve stated outcomes and organizational commitments. This role combines strategic leadership, investment, and financial expertise with a deep commitment to social impact and community development.

Candidate Profile:

● Education: MBA preferred but not required.

● Years of Experience: Transactional experience in private equity & venture capital, commercial debt, and/or hybrid capital for early-stage businesses. 15+ years of a demonstrated track record with at least 7 years of that in private equity or venture capital including successful exits. Experience investing in small businesses is strongly preferred.

● Strong financial expertise with the ability to analyze potential investments, conduct financial analysis, and develop strategic investment plans.
