We are supported by leading corporations and global foundations such as JP Morgan, Mulago, and Axis Bank Foundation; and have received numerous awards and recognitions for our work.
Where does this role fit in the big picture?
We like to think of ourselves as learning implementers – practitioners at heart, committed to action and iteration, yet equally dedicated to measuring, learning, and improving everything we do.
The VP, Data & Impact is the custodian of this approach, responsible for building the culture, systems, and capabilities that enable us to test, learn, refine, and scale – ensuring Medha remains at the forefront of evidence-based impact.
What would you be responsible for:
Impact Evaluation:
- Design and execute rigorous experiments (RCTs, quasi-experimental studies, etc.) to assess the real-world impact of Medha’s programs.
- Oversee in-house and third-party evaluations, ensuring methodological rigor and a strong evidence base.
- Translate complex research findings into actionable insights, shaping program design, strategy, and advocacy efforts.
- Establish rapid learning cycles, enabling Medha to iterate and refine programs in real time.
Data Analytics:
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to uncover trends, causations, and insights that drive decision-making.
- Collaborate with program teams to turn data-driven insights into program innovations and strategic pivots.
- Develop predictive models and forecasting tools to guide resource allocation and maximize impact.
- Ensure data is not just collected – but actively used for decision-making across the organization.
Data Management:
- Build and refine real-time, scalable data collection and reporting systems that provide accurate, actionable insights.
- Develop user-friendly dashboards that enable internal teams, funders, and policymakers to track impact in real time.
- Train and empower teams at all levels to harness data for daily operations, strategic planning, and continuous learning.
Strategic Leadership & Organizational Development:
- Work closely with the CEO and senior leadership to bolster data, impact measurement, and research across the organization.
Represent Medha as a thought leader in data, impact, and research within the education-to-employment ecosystem. - Build and strengthen partnerships with government agencies, research institutions, and funders to scale Medha’s impact through data-driven advocacy.
Who we are looking for:
- Someone who has experience with the list of work areas above and can help us take them to the next level.
- Someone who can work effectively with different teams and leaders to achieve ambitious OKRs in the areas of work above. This is a big one!
- Someone hands-on, detail-oriented ready to do what it takes to get the job done to the highest quality.
- Someone who brings diversity of background, thought, personal journey, and/or professional experience.
- Someone who can work independently, set and achieve their own goals, and does not need significant amounts of guidance or handholding.
- Someone who has very strong verbal and written communication skills because, at its core, this role is about communicating what works and doesn’t with a large set of stakeholders.
Our hiring process:
Our goal is to be as transparent and respectful of your time during the recruiting process. We use a technology platform to ensure the hiring process is comprehensive, efficient, and well documented.
- A short form to learn more about you.
- Shortlisted candidates passed to hiring manager.
