Position Overview
The Janitor is a key member of the Operations department in ensuring that our janitorial services are regu larly maintained at Dorma Distribution Centre . The Janitor will work closely under the supervision of the warehouse officer to help provide janitorial support to our facilities, thereby creating a conducive and healthy friendly environment for all. The Janitor will be required t o perform regular and daily cleaning activities according to PIH/MOHS standards and procedures in order to ensure hygiene and disinfection of materials and surfaces.
The Janitor also check s on cleaning supplies and replenish stock; wipe down furniture usi ng different cleaning products and strictly follow all IPC protocols for warehouse . Under the general direction of the Warehouse Officer , cleans all areas of the Dorma Distribution Centre by performing routine cleani ng of aisles, offices , docking area, shelves, restrooms, and corridors. Demonstrate ability to utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Performing tasks related to hygiene and disinfection according to protocols applied in the service, knowing and applying specific hygiene protocols and security rules .This includes but are not limited to the following:
- Collecting and evacuating waste produced to the designated site emptying out dustbins as often as necessary to ensure an efficient quality of care and safe environment
- Raising awareness on hygiene and sanitation measures amongst staff and visitors, to use correctly the water distribution points, latrines, hand washing points and toilets.
- Ensuring proper use, storage and maintenance of the equipment and tools provided. Ensuring availability of hygiene and sanitation products, and draws up orders for on-going needs .
- Reporting any repair or maintenance work needed related to hygiene to the supervisor, as well as any relevant information related to his/her responsibilities
- Perform other departmental duties as assigned by the supervisor when the need arises
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve departmental objectives, maintaining good team spirit and interdepartmental objectives .
Education and Experience
- Education:
- Technical Certificate , d esirable specialization in Hygiene and sanitation .
- WASSCE is an added advantage
- Experience:
- At least 6 months of experience as a janitor in a similar facility , or a similar role, with hands-on implementation experie nce.

- Professional proficiency in Krio is required. Proficiency in English is an added advantage.
