About the Role

You will join the Finance Advisory Services (FAS) team, a dedicated group of in-country and global advisors. As trusted partners to organizational leadership, we specialize in financial strategy and sustainability. We oversee critical functions such as company-wide budgeting, strategic planning, and financial reporting. Our primary objective is to ensure financial sustainability and enhance our overall impact

As the Finance and Tax Compliance Lead for Tanzania, you will be an essential part of the FAS team, focusing on financial and tax compliance and reporting. Working with teams, you will build compliance processes, provide financial insights, and guide operations. You will report to the Global Finance and Strategy Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Country Tax Compliance
    • Manage the relationship with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) and advise on compliance.
    • Monitor tax regulations to keep our practices compliant and minimize risks.
    • Ensure accurate and timely tax filings.
  • Support Country Financial Operations
    • Coordinate communication among external auditors, on-ground teams, and finance for timely audits.
    • Manage tax communications with accurate documentation and prompt responses.
  • Oversee Budgeting, Variance Analysis and Forecasting
    • Lead annual budgeting and 5-year projections.
    • Collaborate with country leadership to report Tanzania’s financial performance.
    • Support departments in aligning with budget goals and making mission-driven financial decisions.

Qualifications

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

  • 3+ years of work experience in accounting, consulting, or financial analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or ACCA qualification
  • Understanding of Tanzania's tax laws.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to perform complex functions.
  • Proficiency in both English and Swahili.
