Job Description
Knology is seeking a temporary, part-time researcher to join our team of social scientists, journalists, and educators. The ideal candidate for this position has academic and/or professional experience as a mixed methods researcher and an ability to drive forward a research portfolio focused on museums and libraries.

Job Responsibilities
The researcher will be responsible for conducting research and evaluation across all of Knology’s museum- and library-related projects. They will help set the direction for this work by pursuing funding opportunities and submitting grants, conceptualizing and developing new studies, writing and sharing research findings, collaborating with partners, and using their professional standing and contacts to expand the reach of our work. The researcher should be able to work independently to deliver on team goals and objectives, and should have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced research environment as part of a team. The researcher will report to the CEO and COO, and is responsible for ensuring the academic rigor of research and evaluation projects conducted under Knology’s brand.
Primary Qualifications
- An advanced degree in a social science field (preferably museum or library sciences / studies)
- Strong research skills and broad knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Extensive knowledge of informal learning in library and/or museum settings
- Experience with grant writing and project development
- Experience developing instruments for various research projects, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, and observations, as well as recruitment protocols
- Experience conducting in-depth qualitative research and analysis
- Experience writing peer-reviewed journal articles and technical reports, making conference presentations, and leading webinars that describe research and evaluation findings

The salary for this position is based upon a full-time salary of $90,000-105,000. However, this position is a part-time, short-term hire. The researcher role will be for 20 hours per week for four months.
