Job Description
Knology is seeking a temporary, part-time research analyst to join our team of social scientists, journalists, and educators. The ideal candidate for this position has academic and/or professional experience as a mixed methods researcher (particularly qualitative research), and a clear understanding of how to do human subjects data collection and analysis.

Job Responsibilities
The research analyst will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data connected to all of Knology’s research and evaluation projects. We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in qualitative research methodologies, and who have experience conducting interviews, leading focus groups, gathering data through on-site observations, and writing up qualitative research findings. As the position will require some travel, candidates should be well versed in both virtual and in-person data collection settings. Research experience in library and/or museum settings is a plus (though not a requirement).
Primary Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a social science field
- Experience with mixed methods social science research (especially qualitative methods)
- Experience conducting focus groups, interviews, and on-site observations
- Ability to code qualitative and analyze quantitative data with minimal supervision
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate social science findings, including with data visualizations and charts
- Experience with quantitative methods and data visualization, particularly in R, preferred but not required
- Ability to collect data in Spanish (preferred but not required)
This position will be completely remote but will require travel for data collection. Travel will account for roughly 10% of the analyst’s time, including data collection in New York City and across the US.

The salary for this position is based upon a full-time salary of $75,000-80,000. However, this position is a part-time, short-term hire. The research analyst role will be for 20 hours per week for four months.
