The Electrochemical Energy Systems Laboratory in the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering at ETH Zurich invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position focused on light-driven CO2 capture.
Job description
- Our group is actively developing a novel photoacid-based approach for efficient CO2 capture, optimizing both the local chemical environment in photoacids and their molecular structure to enhance sorption capacity and stability
- We seek a postdoctoral researcher who will contribute to these efforts

Profile
- PhD in Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field
- Experience with in situ spectroscopy is a plus
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Self-driven, highly motivated, and strong teamwork skills
We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in organic synthesis and one or more of the following areas:
- Photochemistry
- Advanced characterization techniques (e.g., synchrotron facilities, in-situ methods)
- CO2 capture / utilization (a plus)
