The Boeva Lab at ETH Zurich is looking for exceptional, ambitious, and highly motivated postdoctoral researchers or senior scientists to join our team at the forefront of machine learning, AI, and cancer genomics.
Our lab develops novel machine learning methods to understand biological systems and cancer, with a strong focus on genomics and translational impact. We work in close collaboration with experimental and clinical partners, and we are embedded in one of the strongest AI and computer science environments worldwide.

Job description
Depending on seniority, you will have significant scientific independence and leadership responsibilities:
- Lead and shape an independent research project at the intersection of ML/AI and biology
- Develop novel research ideas with high scientific and translational impact
- Publish in top-tier journals and conferences
- Secure external funding (with strong institutional support)
- Co-supervise Master’s students and PhD candidates
- For Senior Scientists: lead and mentor a small internal team of researchers
- Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented research culture
- Participate in teaching activities, including the design of new teaching materials in AI, machine learning, and genomics
Profile
Please only apply if you meet the following criteria:
- Excellent English, both written and spoken
- A strong publication record with at least 3 papers in
- Journals with Impact Factor > 10, or
- Top-tier ML conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR)
- Proven ability to conduct independent, high-quality research
- Proven ability to write well-documented code in Python
- Strong motivation to work in a collaborative team environment and to supervise others
Experience in grant writing is a strong plus.
