Global Partnerships
LOCATION: Bogotá, Colombia (or Nairobi, Kenya)
REPORTING TO: President, Global Partnerships
BACKGROUND
Global Partnerships (GP) is an impact-first fund manager dedicated to expanding opportunity for people living in poverty. Impact-first investing means investing in a way that seeks to maximize social impact, while seeking to preserve capital with a modest financial return for investors. GP creates and manages impact-first investment funds that make loans to social enterprises serving people living in poverty, primarily in Latin America and Africa. The GP team is comprised of mission-driven, dedicated, high-performing colleagues working primarily from offices in Seattle, Washington (USA), Bogotá, Colombia, and Nairobi, Kenya. THE IMPACT-FIRST VENTURE LOAN POOL (IVLP)
The IVLP is GP’s pioneering initiative to provide medium-term, non-dilutive capital to early-stage social enterprises that generate meaningful impact for people living in poverty. The program offers venture-style loans to high-potential enterprises that are scaling inclusive and sustainable innovations in sectors such as basic goods & services (e.g. health, education, energy, housing, food, water, sanitation) and financial inclusion. The IVLP is strategically important for GP, introducing new and innovative business models that broaden opportunity for people living in poverty and contribute to GP’s learning agenda. Each IVLP loan is accompanied by advisory support in impact management, led by GP’s Impact Team.
