We are seeking qualified candidates for STRIDES Thailand Associate Director, Technical based in Bangkok, Thailand. This position is open to Thai Nationals.
Job Summary:
The STRengthening Infectious disease DEtection Systems (STRIDES) Thailand Associate Technical Director leads and directs technical focus areas across the Activity to enhance global health security in Thailand and Southeast Asia. They will align STRIDES technical frameworks, approaches, tools, and activities in Thailand and Southeast Asia with relevant normative guidelines and technical standards. This may include identifying specialized partnership needs and engaging qualified partners to ensure technical performance. The STRIDES Thailand Associate Technical Director will supervise in-country and regional technical staff, serve as a key liaison for technical government and subcontractual partners, collaborate with in-country and regional monitoring, evaluation & learning personnel, and work with the STRIDES Thailand Project Director to ensure the Activity’s technical delivery is high quality and meets the targets and timelines defined in the STRIDES Thailand/Asia Regional work plan. They are accountable for the successful delivery of all technical aspects and reporting for STRIDES in Thailand/Asia Regional from initiation through delivery and closeout, ensuring completion of technical deliverables on schedule and within budget, and that meet or exceed quality standards.
Accountabilities:
Provides technical direction to develop Thailand/Asia Regional-specific workplans and budgets, ensuring alignment with STRIDES objectives and USG priorities and with global technical standards.
Ensures high-quality technical deliverables, including workplans, required and ad hoc reports, and success stories highlighting technical achievements are developed, submitted, and approved on schedule and within budget parameters.
Provides direction to ensure the STRIDES Thailand/Asia Regional workplan is implemented on schedule, within budget, and that technical milestones and targets are met.
Collaborates closely with MEL and finance/operations colleagues to ensure that activity monitoring and reporting are accurate and timely, and activity operations and implementation comply with contractual requirements, client regulations, and FHI360 policies and processes.
Serve as a key technical resource for in-country clients and partners, responding appropriately to requests and questions on technical matters, as directed by the Thailand/Asia Regional Project Director; ensures timely drafts and submissions of reports.
Assesses subcontractors’ performance on technical activities and directs adjustments, as needed.
Supports performance management and professional development of direct reports, including ongoing feedback, coaching, and career support.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Reports to the STRIDES Thailand Project Director
Education:**
Master’s Degree or its International Equivalent in Public Health, Global Health/Health Security, Epidemiology, One Health, Health Systems, Infectious Disease, Laboratory or Veterinary Public Health, or a related field.
Project Management (PM) Certification preferred.
Experience:**
Typically requires a minimum of 10+ years of relevant technical/project management experience (including 3+ years of leadership, strong technical acumen and/or line management experience).
Proven knowledge and experience in global health security systems strengthening.
Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO) is preferred.
Prior experience implementing USG-funded contracts strongly preferred.

Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift/move up to 5 lbs.
Technology to be Used:
Personal Computer/Laptop, Microsoft applications (i.e., Office 365, SharePoint, Skype/Zoom/Teams), cell phone/mobile technology, and standard office equipment.
Travel Requirements:
Some domestic and regional travel required (up to 15%)
