Driver
The Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of FHI 360 staff, visitors, and project materials in Kathmandu and field sites. The role ensures vehicles are properly maintained, clean, and operational, maintains accurate logbooks, assists with loading/unloading, delivers official correspondence, and supports administrative and program activities as needed while adhering to traffic laws and FHI 360 vehicle policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive FHI 360 vehicles in project field sites and Kathmandu, ensuring safe and timely transportation of staff, visitors, and project materials.
- Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, in good working condition, and clean; oversee routine maintenance and timely servicing.
- Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks, including mileage, fuel usage, and maintenance records.
- Assist in loading and unloading project materials, equipment, and supplies when necessary.
- Deliver FHI 360 mails, parcels, and other official documents as required.
- Report vehicle issues or accidents immediately to the supervisor and follow up on repairs.
- Ensure compliance with traffic laws, safety regulations, and FHI 360 vehicle policies.
- Coordinate with administrative staff for scheduling vehicle use and ensuring availability for program activities.
- Perform minor vehicle troubleshooting or emergency repairs when needed.
- Assist in preparing periodic reports on vehicle usage and maintenance for management review.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor related to transportation and logistics support.
REQUIREMENTS
- SLC with 3-4 years of driving experience.
- Valid driving license.
- Knowledge of vehicle machines, parts and basics of maintenance.
- Ability to read and write English and Nepali.
- Willingness to travel outside the valley as required.
- Ability to perform minor troubleshooting and emergency vehicle repairs when needed.
- Punctual, reliable, and able to manage time effectively for field visits and transportation schedule.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, team building and problem-solving skills.
