Position: Senior Manager, Program and Operations

The Senior Manager–Programs and Operations is responsible for providing strategic oversight and leadership for overall operations, administration, and program support of FHI 360 Nepal office. This includes management of procurement, travel, inventory, and other operational services to ensure smooth and efficient office functioning. The position works closely with all departments and program units to support effective program implementation, adherence to FHI 360 policies and procedures, and operational excellence across the country office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Project Director/Country Representative and program leadership on all administrative and operational matters to ensure smooth office functioning.
  • Lead and manage the procurement process, ensuring completeness of documentation and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Oversee the procurement process and the maintenance of necessary information for completeness for local as well as duty free procurement.
  • Supervise the maintenance and monitoring of office equipment, vehicles, and assets procured for subprojects to ensure proper usage and accountability.
  • Serve as a member of the FHI 360 Nepal Senior Leadership Team and provide input and assistance to the management of the country program, develop country program strategy, business plans, operational plans and budgets.
  • Ensure coordination between program and operations teams for efficient implementation of projects and operational support.
  • Provide guidance and oversight on operational risk management, compliance, and organizational procedures.
  • Facilitate capacity-building and technical support for program and operations staff to strengthen implementation and adherence to organizational policies.
  • Coordinate logistics and operational planning for program activities, including events, trainings, and field visits to ensure timely and smooth execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and Country Representative

REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in management, administration, or a related field with five to seven years of experience overseeing administration, operations, or support functions in a professional setting; or a bachelor’s degree with seven to ten years of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in program and Operations management in related organizations.
  • Ability to work in teams and create collaborative team building environment.
  • Proactive in managing multiple tasks, managing and working in the virtual work environment, and flexible and open to managing time working with different teams in different time zones as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, coordination and collaboration, team building and management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.) an advantage.
  • Excellent oral and written English and Nepali including documentation skills.
