PROJECT DESCRIPTION
EpiC-HIV is a multi-year global project funded by the U.S. Department of State that provides strategic assistance and direct service delivery to help countries achieve the 95-95-95 global HIV targets. The project aims to promote the self-reliant management of national HIV programs by improving HIV case-finding, treatment programming, and viral load suppression among individuals with behaviors that put them at risk. Now in its sixth year of implementation, EpiC-HIV Philippines continues to focus its work in Greater Metro Manila to address critical gaps and bottlenecks in the country’s HIV response.
In addition, EpiC-HIV has been designated by the Department of Health (DOH) to serve as the official secretariat to support the introduction of Lenacapavir in the Philippines as a new strategy for HIV prevention. This role includes coordinating stakeholders, developing implementation frameworks, monitoring the secretariat’s action plan, and ensuring that this innovative long-acting injectable PrEP option is integrated into the national HIV prevention efforts.
JOB SUMMARY
The Lenacapavir Secretariat Coordinator will manage all secretariat functions supporting the Department of Health’s initiative to introduce Lenacapavir as an innovative HIV prevention strategy in the Philippines. This role is pivotal in driving stakeholder collaboration, guiding technical and operational planning, and ensuring timely execution of activities for the rollout of long-acting injectable PrEP. The Coordinator will oversee the development of implementation frameworks, organize high-level meetings, monitor progress against key milestones, and maintain clear, consistent communication among DOH, implementing partners, and other stakeholders. By ensuring alignment with national HIV prevention goals and global best practices, this position plays a critical role in advancing the country’s HIV response.
DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the primary liaison for the Lenacapavir Secretariat, ensuring seamless coordination among DOH, EpiC-HIV, implementing partners, and other stakeholders.
Organize and facilitate technical working groups, committee meetings, consultations, and workshops to advance Lenacapavir introduction.
Support the technical team and consultants in the development and maintenance of implementation frameworks, timelines, and monitoring tools for the introduction and rollout of Lenacapavir as injectable PrEP.
Monitor and report progress against agreed milestones, delivering timely and regular updates and actionable insights to DOH and project leadership.
Support the development and dissemination of technical guidance, protocols, and training materials for implementing partners and ensure quality standards.
Coordinate stakeholder engagement and advocacy efforts to align Lenacapavir integration with national HIV prevention strategies.
Assist in documentation of lessons learned, best practices, contributing to operational research and continuous improvement of Lenacapavir implementation approaches.
Provide comprehensive administrative and logistical support for meetings, events, and communications related to the secretariat’s work.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Technical Advisor and Project Director to ensure successful program delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS
BS/BA or MS in public health, pharmacy, nursing, social science, or related field
Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in HIV programs or health project coordination, or related areas.
Strong knowledge and understanding of HIV prevention strategies, including PrEP, and familiarity with global and national HIV policies.
Demonstrated experience in stakeholder coordination, project management, and organizing multi-sectoral meetings.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and Tagalog.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail and quality.
Experience collaborating with government agencies, civil society organizations, and international development partners.
Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Preference given to Filipino nationals.
The position will be based in the FHI 360 Country office in Makati, Philippines.
