Communication, Documentation and Knowledge Management Specialist
Communication Documentation and Knowledge Management Specialist is responsible to lead and manage all communication and visibility requirements, knowledge management component as well as any social behavior change communication (SBCC) activity including digital solutions as per project workplan. The roles involve leading and coordinating for documentation and dissemination of knowledge products including reports, briefs, good practice and success stories for replication and scaling up by other stakeholders in Nepal.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of the project’s knowledge management strategy in line with project workplan and learning agenda
- Liaise with core-project team and implementing partner to set up smooth and regular communication by developing tools, systems and processes required to support effective implementation of knowledge management (KM) strategy.
- Maintain and update repository of communication material (photos, videos, success stories) and knowledge products (reports, briefs, process documentation, updates)
- Lead the digital solution and SBCC activities in line with the project approved workplan, for instance, conceptualizing refinement of technological solutions activity to support project goals and interventions.
- Support implementing partner in designing and/or tailoring SBCC, job aids and communication material to ensure high quality product.
- Lead development of communication products (such as success stories, presentations, social media posts, feature stories, photo stories and blogs) in line with KM strategy and workplan deliverables as well as for project visibility.
- Liaise with MPHD Global focal points and USAID/Nepal Documentation and Communication (DOCS) team as required for development and visibility of communication materials.
- Support technical team for polished KM and communication products by equipping team with techniques for information distilling as well as by preparing/providing relevant templates, editing and formatting final product.
- Collaborate/coordinate with other USAID supported projects government stakeholders and other networks as appropriate for creating synergy in knowledge sharing and communication.
- Lead reporting process for global MPHD, USAID/Nepal, Family Welfare Division (FWD) by initiating templates, repurposing available content, distilling information as per global/USAID priorities, copy edits and formatting of the end product for submission.
- Ensure branding and marking compliance in project communication materials and events as per donor requirements.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Public Health or Health Communication or Health Promotion or Health Education or other relevant subject with a minimum three to five years’ or bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Communication or Health Promotion or Health Education or other relevant subject with over five years of experience
- Work experience and knowledge in designing, planning, implementing, and monitoring SBCC particularly on Family Planning (FP) and digital solutions
- Proactive in managing multiple tasks, managing, and working in virtual work environment, and flexible and open for managing time for working with different teams in different time zones as needed.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, team building and management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written English and Nepali including documentation skills.
