Amnesty International Indonesia is seeking a professional with demonstrated experience in human rights and program management to work collaboratively with colleagues, strategic partners and other parties, to identify areas for implementation of Social Justice Leader projects.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To lead the growth of Amnesty International Indonesia's movement by designing and implementing strategies that engage, mobilize, and build the capacity of diverse communities, youth groups, and activists across the country. The role ensures that movement building programs, including human rights education, community organizing, and activist development are planned, implemented, monitored, and evaluated to the highest standards in a timely and inclusive manner, in line with organizational values and strategic priorities. The position also plays a key role in sustaining long-term relationships with human rights defenders and community groups, equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and networks necessary to lead impactful campaigns and contribute to collective human rights change in Indonesia.

Please note that this role will only be based in Jakarta. There will be a 6 month probation period for all postholders. For detail information about the position role please see the JDs below.

ABOUT YOU

The suitable candidate:

  • Brings solid experience in project and program management in the context of community development, activism, or human rights work, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Has applied participatory and inclusive approaches when working with rights holders, community groups, or partner organisations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and understands the importance of collaborative communication, to articulate complex ideas clearly, concisely, and persuasively to a range of audiences, including youth, communities, institutions, and external partners. Can manage multiple and competing demands, set clear priorities, and maintain high standards under pressure.
  • Has a strong commitment to youth empowerment, movement building, and human rights, with proven experience in mobilizing supporters, building activist networks, and leading impactful campaigns—both online and offline.
  • Possesses leadership qualities that include mentoring, supporting, and managing others, along with a passion for developing others' capacity to take action for change.
  • Is familiar with the sociopolitical context in Indonesia, especially relating to civil society and human rights issues, and is confident in engaging diverse audiences across cultural and sectoral backgrounds.
