We're looking for a Digital Marketing Associate with 2 - 4 years of experience in New York City. Acumen NY is working under a hybrid model and working in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

About the role
The Acumen Academy community is filled with potential leaders and their stories of success and even meaningful failures. In a field of over 500,000 Acumen Academy students, we need to identity them and tell their stories in a cohesive and compelling manner across our digital properties. This is where you come in: the media savvy storyteller who knows how to build relationships with community, media outlets, and thought leaders. You’ll work closely with our community, product, and marketing teams to discover leaders within our community of course takers and then distill our collective story into a consistent, compelling, and brand-aligned narrative. Accountabilities include:

  • Craft and manage impactful campaigns to a large, global and growing audience
  • Work with our community and product team to identify candidates for our Corps of social change leaders
  • Integrate yourself into product, content, and marketing workflows to surface material to share more broadly while ensuring consistent messaging and visuals across our public-facing elements
  • Cultivate reciprocal professional relationships with key community members, sector influencers, bloggers, journalists, press, media outlets, podcasters etc...
  • Become one of the “faces” and “voices” of Acumen Academy in video, live feeds and podcasts
  • Distill a growing library of courses, videos, interviews and transcripts into engaging content
  • Work with Acumen’s offices around the globe to deepen or establish their media and social presence

Qualifications and skills

  • 2 - 4 years of experience
  • Familiarity and fluency with CMS and backend systems
  • A social media native, fluent in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn (and are always on the lookout for other emerging platforms)
  • A passion for community outreach
  • Can create content that packs a punch
  • Can create digital campaigns that drive engagement and reach
  • Understands the backend of CMS platforms
  • Proficient in SEO, able to identify key words and opportunities to “own” a given phrase
  • Can execute a social media strategy and effectively communicate it to related stakeholders
  • Can craft engaging email campaigns that build and sustain engagement over time
  • Detail oriented and is excited to look through course submissions, community interactions, and historical data to find individuals possessing a defined set of characteristics
  • Understands and gets excited about branded storytelling
  • Self-reflective and aligned with Acumen values
  • Authorized to work in the US
  • Ability to pick up new systems and technologies quickly and self-train
  • Bonus: Experience doing editorial work of some sort
  • Bonus: a proven track record of working with media and influencers
  • Bonus: able to craft Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat stories using only basic equipment
  • Bonus: Stay on top of trends and best practices and never shy away from learning and leveraging the latest and greatest
  • Bonus: Spanish fluency

The salary range for this role is $58,500-$67,400 plus a performance-based bonus. This range represents the present low and high end of pay range for this role. Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to experience. Acumen has equal pay, so pay is determined through comparison to a cohort of employees in market at the same level of accountability.
