About One Acre Fund

Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund supplies 1 million smallholder farmers with the agricultural services they need to make their farms vastly more productive. Our 8,000+ team is drawn from diverse backgrounds and professions. With operations across six core countries in Africa, we make farmers more prosperous by providing quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers’ homes, and agricultural training to improve harvests. On average, the farmers we serve harvest 50 percent more food after working with One Acre Fund.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee the entire construction of our new Macadamia processing factory. You'll manage the project, from initial site evaluation and planning to final construction and commissioning. You'll report directly to the Director of Market Access and facilitate close collaboration with contractors and consultants. Success means delivering a high-quality facility on time and within budget, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and maintaining relationships with all partners involved.

Responsibilities

  • On-Site Representation: Act as the full-time on-site representative throughout the construction phase, ensuring the project is built safely, meets our requirements, and remains within budget.
  • Contractor Management: Act as Tupande's representative in engagements with Contractors and Consultants, ensuring compliance with project specifications and timelines.
  • Public Relations: Manage relationships with residents and businesses, representing Tupande.
  • Daily Operations and Reporting: Oversee and document on-site activities, handle internal financial reporting, and ensure collaboration between all parties involved in the project.
  • Problem Solving and Feedback: Provide constructive feedback to Tupande on ways to improve the construction procedure to deliver a high-quality project where best practices are followed.
  • Occupational Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with OSHA's act for all site operations and team safety. This includes all 3rd party agents on site. Review the safety protocols set up by the Contractors and consultants, signages, inspections, and reviews.
  • Regulatory Approvals: Review all licenses and regulatory approvals, ensuring the site is compliant with all local regulations and flag any non-compliance.

Career Growth and Development

We have a strong culture of constant learning and we invest in developing our people. You’ll have weekly check-ins with your manager, access to mentorship and training programs, and regular feedback on your performance. We hold career reviews every six months, and set aside time to discuss your aspirations and career goals. You’ll have the opportunity to shape a growing organization and build a rewarding long-term career.
